Affordable Green
Healthy, eco-friendly and energy-efficient homes can be constructed on a variety of budgets. Affordable housing can be constructed with green building techniques. The Urban Project takes an “Environomical” approach to affordable housing. We strive to construct economical homes that can be built without harming the environment. Green building products are available for all areas of home construction. Paint, flooring, cabinets, lighting and appliances are a handful of products that are available at reasonable costs. A home can easily become green by spending a few extra hours researching what products to use and where to buy them. Granted, many well engineered, energy efficient systems require more upfront costs; but there paybacks can be huge after several years of lower operating costs.
